The property is owned by Loretta Lynn, the American country music singer-songwriter. Billed as "the Seventh Largest Attraction in Tennessee", the Loretta Lynn Plantation House features a recording studio, museums, lodging, restaurants and western stores. Traditionally, three holiday concerts are hosted annually at the ranch, Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July Weekend, and Labor Day Weekend.

Loretta herself claims to be psychic and has allegedly seen a number of ghosts at the property. These include that of a former owner named James Anderson, and the apparition of a Woman in White. A number of other witnesses have reported seeing the White Lady, as well as the apparition of slaves and a shadowy figure. A group of phantom Confederate soldiers has been reported on an iron bridge in the grouds, whereas others have been sighted in the house itself.

Other reported effects include the sounds of chains rttling and being dragged, as well as footsteps. Doors have reportedly been closed and locked on their own.
